With the marginal difference between
Max Verstappen and
Lewis Hamilton, each of the five remaining races is particularly important. In Mexico, Verstappen seems to be the favourite with
Red Bull Racing. At the
FIA press conference, the Dutchman looks ahead.
"You can look good on paper, but you still have to get the set-up right," the Dutchman explains on
Motorsport-Total.com when asked during the press conference if he is the favourite this weekend. According to the Dutchman, the team needs to do a good job from FP1 onwards. In the end he just wants to score as many points as possible every weekend.
Two wins in the last three GPs in Mexico give Verstappen confidence for the coming weekend. "It's looking good for us, but we have to get everything right", says the Dutchman. "We always try to do our best. I want to score as many points as possible every weekend."
Verstappen not worried
Last year Hamilton missed the Sakhir GP due to a positive Covid test. The world title was already won at the time. Twelve months later, such a situation could have serious consequences for the title fight. While Hamilton makes every effort to keep his contacts to a minimum, Verstappen is not worried: "If I slip in the shower and break my leg, it's the same thing. I don't think about things like that. We've been living with Covid for almost two years now and I'm going to keep going like this."
