Max Verstappen has received an upgrade in
Formula 1's official game, F1 22. The Dutchman had a rating of 94 when the game was released, but that score has now risen, making Verstappen the highest-rated driver in the game.
Verstappen's rating was initially on a par with rival
Lewis Hamilton, but the
Red Bull Racing driver has impressed in the first half of the season. Verstappen has been incredibly consistent and he managed to win the race in the Hungarian Grand Prix from P10. Therefore his rating in the game has gone up by one point.
"Max Verstappen is dominating: he has won four of the six races included in today's update. His string of solid results has resulted in his Awareness increasing by two points, while his Pace and Overall Rating have increased by one point, making Max the highest-rated driver at 95", echoes the Dutchman's assessment on the
official website of the F1 game.
Leclerc's rating goes down
Britons David Croft, Alex Jacques and Anthony Davidson have helped with the new ratings by sharing their expertise. In this way, the game aims to better reflect the individual performances of the drivers rather than just focus on algorithms. Other drivers who have also received higher ratings include
George Russell, Zhou Guanyu and
Mick Schumacher.
Leclerc is not making much of an impression. Since the
Monaco Grand Prix, the
Ferrari driver has only finished on the podium once with his victory in Austria, and four of the six races he has finished behind teammate
Carlos Sainz. Leclerc's rating has therefore downgraded.
"With a slower bid for the championship, his Awareness has dropped by one, his Pace by three and his Overall Rating by one."
