After qualifying, all cars are in Parc Ferme, which means that the teams can make little or no changes to the cars. Unless the teams can prove that some changes are necessary, then they can get an exemption from the
FIA. With five drivers hitting the wall in Baku, there were also many parts that needed to be replaced.
The
FIA technical document, which normally consists of a single A4 page, was three full pages this time.
Daniel Ricciardo had to have ten parts replaced and
Yuki Tsunoda had to have sixteen.
Antonio Giovinazzi had a lot of damage as well. There were twelve parts that had to be replaced.
Also for
Max Verstappen, there were some things that needed to be repaired. The brakes of the Dutchman had to be replaced and also the Dutchman will not drive on the tires with which he set the fastest time in Q2. He will start on another set of used red tyres, which have been approved by the FIA.
