Ralf Schumacher is critical of
Max Verstappen. According to the former Formula One driver, the Dutchman was not particularly smart in his overtaking attempts on
Charles Leclerc in Saudi Arabia.
In the closing stages of the
Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, Verstappen had closed the gap to his rival and was able to attack. In his first attempt, however, he was fooled by Leclerc, who, as in Bahrain, let him pass in the final corner. In this way the Monegas could pass the Dutchman on the straight with DRS again.
''With Verstappen, what stood out now was that in Jeddah he tried to overtake three times before turn 27, while Leclerc could then always catch him back with DRS on the straight. That is incomprehensible to me,'' said the German in his column for the German
Sky Sports. According to
Michael Schumacher 's brother, this shows that Verstappen also has something to learn.
