Max Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix by force. Despite being well ahead of number two Lewis Hamilton, the Dutchman had a lot of trouble keeping the car between the lines. As a result, the Red Bull driver received three track limit warnings.
"I was struggling a little bit on the hard tyres keeping it within the white lines. I knew once I had that last warning, I have to keep it within the white lines but it's not really an issue," the Dutchman told a press release attended by GPblog.
Despite the complete dominance of Red Bull and Verstappen, the 25-year-old Dutchman remained calm.
"It's a good period but we have to keep on working and finding more performance. I am happy with the car and the last few race weekends have definitely been a lot more positive for me. This is one weekend where it went really well but we also know that maybe some other tracks it's not like this. Still a lot of races to come where we have to perform really well to try and win the race," Verstappen said.
Had a chuckle myself listening to Christian over the radio "Max, you're on 2 limit warnings so please take it easy" Max being Max decided to deliver best lap time regardless as part of his masterclass. Sublime.
That's not Christian. That's Gianpero Lambase, his race engineer. They sound alike. Easy mistake.
