Max Verstappen said earlier that he believes
Mercedes still has the edge over
Red Bull Racing on the more 'normal' tracks, and that Red Bull needs to continue the lead after Monaco to have a chance at the end of the race.
Verstappen no fan of street circuits
The Baku circuit has brought Verstappen little luck so far, and he says he is more of a fan of 'normal' circuits, rather than street circuits like Monaco and Baku.
"I get more pleasure from a normal circuit where you can push more to the limit," he says in conversation with
Motorsport.com.
In Baku, the Dutchman thinks it is difficult to find the right set-up, because you often drive the same lap time despite different wing settings. The amount of downforce is the biggest challenge on the Baku circuit.
On streetcircuits they usually drive with a lot of downforce, but the long straight in Azerbaijan makes that difficult. As a result, drivers drive with less downforce than they would like. And that's what makes it so tricky, according to Verstappen.
"But in the end it's the same for everyone. We just have to get the most out of it," the
Red Bull Racing driver said.
