Max Verstappen will start his home race from pole position for the third year in a row. The Dutchman can match
Sebastian Vettel's record of nine wins in a row at Circuit
Zandvoort. Verstappen had this to say ahead of the race in the Netherlands.
According to forecasts, there is a good chance of rain during the
Dutch Grand Prix, and Verstappen knows that too.
"Yesterday was very important. We have a good starting position, and now we have to really see what the weather will do as well. There's a bit of rain around. That will make it interesting," Verstappen said during the
Formula 1 Drivers' Parade.
Verstappen not concerned with Vettel's record
The past eight Grands Prix were all won by Verstappen, and on Sunday, the Dutchman can match the record of nine consecutive wins, but the
Red Bull Racing driver is not concerned with that.
"I'm not really here for the records, but I just want to have a good race. I want to win, of course, in front of my home crowd, and we'll do everything we can today."Verstappen thanks fans
Verstappen also thanked the sea of orange in the stadium area at
Circuit Zandvoort.
"Super to see you all here. I hope you are all ready for it today. Of course, it's always incredible the support I get here, so thank you very much!"
