Red Bull's
Max Verstappen has said that if he was watching the
Australian Grand Prix at home, he probably would have turned it off due to a lack of overtaking.
A third DRS zone was added to Albert Park to improve overtaking chances, but battles still rarely resulted in a re-shuffle of positions. The street circuit rarely allows space for someone like Verstappen to overtake a slower opponent.
"It was like Monaco out there," Verstappen said after the race.
"Even if you're a second quicker or more, you still couldn't pass anyone."
"As someone watching, I would've turned off the tv."
"I don't think the circuit should be changed because in the past overtaking wasn't a problem here, so they should change the cars instead."
"It's like my mother or my best friend is on the edge of a cliff and I couldn't get to them with all my will and abilities," Lewis Hamilton added.
"Maybe next race it'll be different."
