Sebastian Vettel admitted he was disappointed to not take pole position for the British Grand Prix having held provisional pole going into the final runs. Instead it will be home favourite Lewis Hamilton on pole position for the race on Sunday.
Speaking after qualifying to Martin Brundle, Vettel admitted he was happy despite missing out on pole and expects to be very close come race day.
"I had a bit of an issue (with my neck) in practice but it was fine in qualy," he said.
"I was very happy with the last lap but we seem to lose a lot of time in the straights. I'm happy with second and it gives us a good chance for tomorrow."
"I think I had all the tools today to be faster," said the Finn, having missed out on pole position by a tenth of a second.
Ferrari surprised Mercedes with just how quick they were in qualifying and expect a big fight for victory on home soil.
