Sebastian Vettel ended his day today with a problem with the engine. At the end of the second free practice session, there was a big thud and the Ferrari was leaking a lot of fluid on the track.
It now seems that Ferrari will replace the internal combustion engine of Vettel after it broke at the end of FP2. At the beginning of the third free practice, a new one will be placed in the SF1000.
The internal combustion engine that broke down earlier today will send the Scuderia back to its home base in Maranello to determine the causes of the failure and possibly also to repair it.
Recall that last race Marko was asking the question: "How can Ferrari be so fast down the straights?" We all wondered how from one race to the other how Ferrari could be so fast. Now with Sebs faiulure, one has to wonder: "Did Ferrari turn up their engines just to make up performance? not caring about the consequences of failure?" This short term mentality of Maranello must end if they are to make any progress. I expect Charles Leclerc's engine to fail during qualifying or the race.
Scuderia Ferrari to replace Vettel's internal combustion engine following the failure today. The team will send the damaged power unit to Maranello to ascertain the causes of the fault and if possible recover it. Recover it? Recover what? Ferrari has entered the scrap metal business!!!!!
It is temporary! It will end. Surely this state of slump is not worse than the period before Michael joined Ferrari? But Ferrari came back and won six straight championships. It is temporary. It will blow over.
Dude thats fine. But then why you compare evrything to before michael's era.Thats done and dusted. You have to learn from that.If you take from 2009 to 2019[until binotto. Not sure what can he do as still he has to prove] was this time not sufficient to understand your shortfallings. You know simulators are not good, correlation probs etc etc.You know from your previous exp that if you dont have right tools and management structure you cant win here. But what were you doing all these years. What did you learn from your earlier years of struggle. You could have learnt when Red bull dominated and corrected it so that you apply those for Hybrid era.Now here too you have failed miserably. On what basis you will believe 2022 will be good?Evry year you should improve that will only give you confidence.but ferrari's peformance is roller coaster kind of.So that creates doubts..
Reckon Seb is going to have a tough year. No sabotage, of course, but by way of parts and treatment, can't have him beating their new No.1 (this is not Charles' fault). I do feel for Seb as x4 WDC, hope he can keep his motivation up for the rest of the year.
What goes around, comes around, isn't it? Remember the Webber years? when Seb run into Webber and then had the misfortune of dropping out. When he got to the pits, Team principal put his arm around him. Webber was blamed for the incident even though it was not his fault. Why are we surprised it is happening to him now?
He will get a magic PU. One that moves 2 steps forward and three steps backward.
