Ferrari driver
Sebastian Vettel still believes there is a chance of catching his title-rival Lewis Hamilton up in the constructors' standings, despite being 67 points adrift of the first-placed Mercedes man.
On Sunday, Vettel conceded even more ground to Hamilton, with the Ferrar driver only managing P6 in Suzuka - whilst Hamilton stormed it at the front and claimed yet another Grand Prix victory.
Hamilton could potentially win the title in the next Grand Prix (USA, Austin) - meaning the Mercedes driver having to win and then Vettel fails to finish in second.
Despite the gap looking almost too much to recover for the German, he hasn't given up hope just yet.
"There's still a chance," Vettel claimed to Crash. "The last couple of races we made it a bit too easy for them but also credit for them, they executed (the race) well. It's the name of the game but we need to look after ourselves, do our best in the next couple of races, and then we'll see.
"But surely it didn't help when we finish sixth and they win the race."
Vettel accepts that Ferrari have not performed too well as a team recently and this has led to Mercedes and Hamilton pulling away from Scuderia.
"I think it's been always very close but we were not as strong," Vettel conceded. "I think the fact that we were better in the race is also due to the fact they didn't have to push.
"So you will never get the full picture. We'll see where we are in a couple of weeks' time moving forward."
