Everyone associated with F1 will know by now that the recent Monaco and Canadian Grands Prix were not the best for viewers. However, winner in Canada, Sebastian Vettel has spoken out against the criticism the sport has received.
Vettel secured his 50th F1 win from pole position in Canada and compared Formula One to the World Cup, which kicks off in Russia today.
“The World Cup is starting, and I promise you that a lot of the games won’t be exciting, but still people will watch it. Some games will probably be incredible,” he said.
The German does have a good point here, a lot of football games can be boring for viewers, similarly to the Canadian Grand Prix, but sometimes we get to see a game like the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which was full of incident and controversy to the very end.
The German continued, adding: “That’s what we always look forward to, but it can’t just always continue to go up and get better.
“I don’t know, there’s no reason so don’t look for an answer.
“I think we do our job inside the car, and if we can race, we race. And some races are just exciting and others are not.”
