Sebastian Vettel believes that
Ferrari still has work to do in finding speed ahead of qualifying for the
Austrian Grand Prix.
The German finished Friday practice down the order in seventh position after a spin out of the final corner ruined his only qualifying simulation.
Having kept his
Ferrari out of the barriers unlike
Max Verstappen and
Valtteri Bottas before him, Vettel reflected positively on the first day in Austria, adding that despite the run off the track, the team finished its run plan for the day.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't get the long run on the softs," Vettel told media.
"But other than that it had no further impact, the car was fine.
"Normally you are pushing but obviously we didn't volunteer to go off. It was tricky in the afternoon, especially with the conditions. Fortunately, from my side it didn't have a big impact."
The Ferrari driver also added that the team had work to do in finding speed still although
Lewis Hamilton believes they
could be a threat come qualifying.
"In practice, it always looks a bit stronger for us than in practice than qualifying and the race.
"We need to be cautious. We're still trying a lot of things to get closer so hopefully tomorrow we can have a good feel and do better than today"
