For the second time in a row, victory in Zandvoort went to Max Verstappen, who has increased his lead in the championship to over one hundred points. The Dutchman was also named Driver of the Day, but what do GPblog's readers think?

Verstappen had to work hard for home win

Verstappen had to pull out all the stops to win his home race, after starting the weekend with a deficit by missing the first free practice. Together with Red Bull Racing, however, the Dutchman managed to turn things around and secure victory in the Dutch Grand Prix.

At the same time, Mercedes came closer to a win than it has so far been in 2022. However, the team gambled wrong with the strategy of Lewis Hamilton, who became a target for Verstappen as well as George Russell and Charles Leclerc after he was the only one not called in during the late safety car. Russell was not called in either, but the young Briton forced a change to softs, securing second place.
