With
Mattia Binotto leaving
Ferrari at the end of the year, the Italian will have to look for a new job. Chances are Binotto will remain active in
Formula 1 with all his experience, who knows, perhaps within
Audi's new project.
After
Ferrari's disappointing 2022 season, the Italian team will restart next year with a different team boss. Top Ferrari executives were no longer happy with Binotto after numerous mistakes in the title race with
Red Bull Racing. Alfa Romeo team boss
Fred Vasseur is said to be the big favourite to replace the Italian, but Ferrari will not make an announcement until the new year.
Binotto's future plans are also still unclear. Journalist and Ferrari expert Leo Turrini, who has long been closely involved in events at Maranello, thinks he already knows where Binotto will end up in the future. According to the Italian, he is holding talks with
Audi. The car brand will be active in
F1 as Sauber's engine supplier from 2026.
Binotto to Audi?
"Ferrari is without a leader. The new team boss will arrive in January. Binotto will soon be hired by the competition. I know he is talking to Audi, who will come in F1 in 2026", Turrini says in conversation with
Calcio Mercato. It is likely that a lot will change within Sauber's organisation with the arrival of Audi.
