Williams Advanced Engineering teams up with Lotus in new partnership

Lotus and Williams have revealed they will work together and share their findings as they continue the research of their advanced propulsion technologies.

The two companies are set to share research with Lotus already having a strong foundation in new technology for Lotus-based cars and they are seen as an industry leader in lightweight structures and advanced materials.

Williams finished bottom of the 2018 F1 leader board with a measly seven points but the partnership is set to spread across the automotive industry and the pair will share knowledge in propulsion systems and battery technology.

Phil Popham the CEO of Lotus Cars said to the Williams website: “Our new technology partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering is part of a strategy to expand our knowledge and capability in the rapidly changing automotive landscape.

“Applying advanced propulsion powertrains can provide numerous exciting solutions across multiple vehicle sectors.”

“Our combined and complementary experiences make this a very compelling match of engineering talent, technical ability and pioneering British spirit,” added Popham

Williams are best known for their F1 history and their Managing Director, Craig Wilson spoke about this.

“Williams Advanced Engineering takes great pride in delivering innovation for our customers at a rapid pace of development, born from our Formula One heritage.”
