In one fell swoop Williams scored ten points and are now eighth in the Constructors' Championship. Alfa Romeo and Haas were unable to take advantage of the chaos in Hungary and are now trailing.

Up until Hungary, the battle for eighth place in the Constructors' standings had been very close. Alfa Romeo were leading, but had scored only two points compared to the zero scored by Williams and Haas. Haas seem furthest away from the points, and still do not expect to close the gap to Williams.

"The chances are very small. We have to be realistic. I don't bet that we will collect more points than them. Williams certainly didn't expect them to collect ten points. But they did well and were in the right place at the right time when points were suddenly on the table. That shows that in every situation you try to give the best possible performance," says Günther Steiner according to Auto, Motor und Sport.

Alfa Romeo are disappointed, because up until now the Italian team had been the most consistent. In Hungary they scored one point for the third time. "We could have had a lot more. But unfortunately we left a lot out for various reasons", says Frederic Vasseur. Chief engineer Xevi Pujolar, however, is still confident. "The gap to Williams is not very big. There are still many races to go this year. We can still do it," Pujolar concluded.
