Mercedes team boss
Toto Wolff has revealed he won't be saying goodbye to Mercedes for the time being. The team boss sees the
Formula 1 team as a long-term project. He also admitted that he feels
Red Bull Racing have a slight advantage in the 2021 title race.
Wolff explained that he thought about taking a temporary step back and leaving
Formula 1, but after careful consideration the Austrian decided otherwise:
"I was thinking about going back to finance for a year," he explained in an interview with
Bild am Sonntag.
Longer time at Mercedes
"
But we at Mercedes have decided together that Formula 1 is not just another marketing platform that we want to use for a short time," Wolff continued. Recently, Mercedes did indicate that it was pulling the plug on the
Formula E project in order to focus on Formula 1.
Wolff will also be there in the coming years, but might take a step back: "Since I own 33% of the team shares, I will definitely be there. But that doesn't necessarily mean I have to be the team boss."
Red Bull as title favourite
Currently Mercedes are in a fierce title battle with Red Bull and according to Wolff, Red Bull are the favourites:
"Red Bull is a bit faster on paper. But we'll fight until the end. And we have to, because this championship goes on until the end." It's very exciting in the battle for both drivers' and constructors' titles.
Lewis Hamilton has an eight-point lead over
Max Verstappen in the drivers' field, while Mercedes have a 12-point lead in the constructors'.
Since I own 33% of the team shares i can afford Mercedes cars to crash and lead by 12-points....Not on paper on track ...FFS...
Start working at home with Google. It’s the most-financially rewarding I've ever done. On Tuesday I got a gorgeous BMW after having earned $26699 this last month. I actually started five months/ago and practically straight away was bringing in at least $96, per-hour. visit this site right here.

MERCEDES may have the slower car ,but they have the 7 time World Champion driver for them. I think the bookies have odds they win this year.
If Mercedes do indeed have the slower car then unfortunately they don't have a driver with the skill to overcome that.
Being recognised only as a frontrunner being the issue.
Time will tell.
Well I guess you right, Max is number one in thenchampionship right now right ?
Your thinking too far ahead. Copy and paste this comment after Belgium
@Stevesyd fair enough I will if he does mange to do what we all expect Max to do.
Best driver, fastest car ....should be no issue for Max to take the championship lead.
Are you a clown Max's did not even get to race in the last 2 races, Mercedes stole those points never earned them, the redbull car in not the favorite or the fastest, Max's makes the difference if people can't see that they are stupid,
So if he wins, will you acknowledge that your assessment of the 7 times champ is flawed? Somehow I don't think so.
The 7 time blah blah didnt stop MV so far winning 5 races.
A tyre blow out and 2 wipe outs from merc would otherwise have him at 8 and all over red rover by now.
@Stevesyd
Max has race wins ,SLH has World Championship wins.
RESPECT
Max has the fastest car, has the most wins but is behind in the championship, probably not new to him, it happened in F3 as well...in a car 2 secs faster than everyone
If true RB faster on paper in addition to the superior driver will succeed.
Not unless the superior driver is infact not as superior as they think?
Until Hungary, RBR did look the fastest car, but not sure what happened to them in Hungary qualifications, VER probably didn't get the best out of the car, else BOT wouldn't have qualified in front
You should have watched to understand what happened coming out for the last run in Q3
But VER had a run before that run and he had his 2 runs in Q3, it was Perez who missed out. He had a good gap to HAM as well, so what happened?
Max is still less in everything to Hamilton, he will find out soon that Hamilton have changed his mode of attacking him, if Mercedes improve a bit more, max and redbull is out
Yep in Hungary Max over-drove the car knowing the importance of being on pole on that track. That was why he was so miffed with himself after qualifying 3rd and as it happens that put him at the scene of the carnage at T1. You will have noticed that SLH only just escaped being collected as well.
There is no doubt that Max has the quicker car. He is also as quick if not quicker than SLH depending on the track but his race sense is definitely inferior. Max fans will disagree but that's their prerogative. There are no prizes for who is right coz I doubt that there is a definitive way to settle that debate. Even winning the WDC requires an element of good fortune.
