Esteban Ocon has been named as one of the favourites to make a move to Renault during the winter break. The current Force India driver is under contract by Mercedes, similar to how Carlos Sainz is with Red Bull.
Toto Wolff, boss at Mercedes is keen to make sure they get the best deal for the Frenchman.
“Esteban is doing a very good job, he has a lot of options which is very good for him. Now we must choose what is the best for him. Renault is certainly one of those possibilities,” Wolff tells Le Figaro.
Otmar Szafnauer from Force India believes his team have the option to keep Ocon and denies any deal between Renault.
“I do not think there is any agreement with Renault, in fact, we have the option of staying with him.”
With just two races left until the summer break, silly season is going to take off in full flight.
