People forget that these engine rules were designed so Honda would be able to develop their engine. Nobody, and definitely not RBR, Honda or Max, were complaining then about the rules...........30-11-2021 11:01

With budget caps the saving in cost is irrelevant. Remember how RBR were so 'concerned' about the cost of replacing engines? Obviously if Merc are changing engines to a point where it is deemed 'unfair' its probably not as much of a concern as previously believed... If anything this shows we could probably reduce the budget cap or in my opinion, as engines are included in the budget cap, we could even do without engine penalties.... Doesn't really make sense to have a budget cap AND other rules and penalties that are designed for cost saving... But it is getting tiring constantly blaming the team that has made best use of the rules over and over again when all the other teams have had 7 years to catch up.30-11-2021 11:07

I mean this sincerely. You should check out Formula 2 or Indycar. Both great series where equal equipment is the name of the game. Don't fall into the trap of blaming the better team in F1 like a lot of people here who refuse to blame the losing teams for taking 7 years to catch up. One, and only one team making cheating accusations(RBR), without ever filing a protest, does not make any of their claims true. Don't blame Lewis for dominating, that is the weak choice to make. Blame the teams who can't catch up with the same rules and regulations. Nobody blamed Fangio for besting his competitors..... what's changed?30-11-2021 08:49

How is that not fair?? They take the predetermined penalties, just as any other team is welcome to do. Is it Mercedes fault that they have done such a good job with the regulations and this generation of car? I cant stand people blaming the winners and not blaming the competition for not doing a good enough job. Blame RBR and Ferrari for making poor decisions season in and season out, not Mercedes for doing what everyone is attempting to do themselves.23-11-2021 10:08

Surely as a fan of RBR you are a little annoyed that they just won't put their money where their mouth is and file the goddamn protest already.?? Aren't you tired of hearing all year long about how Mercedes are 'cheating' but then their accusers(RBR) just never do anything about it?? It really seems like all they are doing is trying to sew seeds of doubt for if they lose? I do support Lewis, and I honestly started out concerned about the rear wing, as RBR seemed really confident it was illegal, but even after all the tests have been done, nothing, and RBR refuse to file anything, so now I actually just think it's a joke and they are just trying to bring the Mercedes car into disrepute without having anything to back it up. It's pretty weak to go on a year long tirade of cheating accusations like this without any actual action. Do you have any other explanation as to why they keep making accusations but never do anything about it? At least if they filed a protest it would show that they do actually believe what they say, but the lack of action just makes me think that they don't even believe the stuff coming out their mouths.23-11-2021 08:41

This is near exactly the same as Silverstone, in both case the inside driver missed the Apex and pushed the other wide, (which was a huge talking point for Max fans, when proving Lewis' guilt) although to me missing the apex isnt everything, some corners you dont use the 'apex' so its a mute and ambiguous point in my book, but was very important to some back then.... Only difference being that in Brazil Lewis had the wherewithal to avoid the collision, could have just as easily committed to turning in, and then we would have had 2 drivers out the race... But I thought we punish the action and not the consequence? (being the accident) Or are people and Christian now suggesting that only if an accident occurs should it be punished? Cause that would be contradicting the rulebook... Think about races going forward as well, and what this means for the defending driver. Do we really want to see people defending off track like this? If so, then lets just do away with track limits, cause whats the point?15-11-2021 08:32

There we go. Thank you!! Gpblog should also thank you for doing their job for them. Question still stands how Gpblog can post this article without actually linking any source information. They seem wayyyy to quick to post articles on unfounded claims, or claims that they can’t or just don’t back up.08-09-2021 10:59
