Even before the start of the race last Sunday, the
Bahrain Grand Prix seemed to be over for
Sergio Perez. The Mexican's RB16B literally went out of control in the warm-up lap. Miraculously, he was able to restart the car and could still start the race.
Just like last season a catch-up race in Bahrain
Because of the problems he had to start the race from the back of the grid, but considering his victory at this same circuit last season, that's not a problem for him. He fell back after a collision in the first lap but won the race thanks to a chaotic final stage.
This time he didn't benefit as much from other people's problems, but that the Red Bull is a fast car even in Perez's hands was proven by the many overtakes on the way to fifth place. Especially the last one on
Charles Leclerc was great.
