AlphaTauri will stick to its current line-up with
Pierre Gasly and
Yuki Tsunoda in 2022. In Gasly, Red Bull's rookie team has found an ideal frontrunner, while Tsunoda will be given time to get used to
Formula 1.
Gasly remains the leader
AlphaTauri has opted for stability for 2022. With the new rules, the team believes it is important to keep the same drivers, so that they can make clear what is new about the car. With this, AlphaTauri continues the line that has already been taken by
Red Bull Racing, with the retention of
Max Verstappen and
Sergio Perez.
With this, there again seems to be no place for
Alexander Albon within the Red Bull program, but this announcement could indicate more certainty for the Thai. The top of Red Bull would love to have the Thai back in F1, so Red Bull had to look for a place at
Williams or Alfa Romeo.
