Alonso and Hamilton have something Button doesn't: 'That's my weakness'

Jenson Button hasn't been a racing driver for a while now and nowadays he watches the races with the same excitement that fans usually do. Still, with 15 wins and a world championship to his name, Button had a great career in Formula One.

The same can already be said for Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, who he raced with at one point in his career. In the High Performance Podcast the Briton says that he saw the Spaniard and his fellow countryman do something that he could not.

"One thing I haven't been able to overcome is driving a bad car. That's my weakness. Lewis and Fernando Alonso can get into a bad car and get more out of it than I can." Yet he knows another weakness about himself.

"My other biggest weakness was not being prepared to go through a bad weekend. But I feel like I definitely got over it."

Button also knows his strength

Because if you only have weaknesses, you won't reach Formula One and you won't win as many races. "My strength is that my driving style is very different to most. It's great because I have all the speed data and everything since we were teammates"

Button will also be looking on again from next weekend when the battle for the world championship continues in Belgium.

You lot do make me laugh with all your "Ham is great, Ver isn't, no, Ver is great, Ham isn't" 'expert' analysis. I love F1 but don't profess to be an all-seeing expert, (unlike most of you). One thing for sure, ALL F1 drivers, even the lessor ones, are on a higher skill and knowledge level than all the Posters on here combined - imho.

So, JB want to inform people that McLaren and Ferrari car's category is BAD car. When Alonso and Hamilton driving McLaren cars, also when Hamilton and JB driving it, they are driving a pair of bad cars. Understood. At that time the engine is Mercedes?

10 laps to overtake Alonso in Hungary despite a 3.5 sec advantage is was a bad bad bad car. Running off the track in Austria with 1 lap to race after the restart was a bad bad bad car.

Your obviously clueless so I will not bother to educate you

The point is he overtook him and got on the podium. In the end, Alonso didn't stop him from getting on the podium. But he did stop him from winning the race.

Respect JB. That takes a lot of humility to admit.

Button spanked Lewis, so embarrassing. And people here actually think Lewis is a good driver ???

OP_AOC 20 August 2021 at 22:31+ 93

He only beat Hamilton once who was honestly having a bad season in 2011 but the he bounced back in 2012 and don't forget he beat him in 2010 and that he beat alonzo in his rookie season:)

He's a terrible driver with 7 WDC. Just remember to put Sir in front whatever you choose to call him.

Carolyn Peterkin Woody 21 August 2021 at 04:10+ 7900

Some spanking! Jenson was in F1 for 16 years and won 1 WDC. Lewis has won 7! Some Spanking. I don't think Lewis is embarrassed, but you should be trying to pass that BS in here. Come on!

Spanked, really? In one season out of 3
