Red Bull Racing clinched the constructors' title at the Japanese Grand Prix. Max Verstappen scored the maximum number of points, leaving the team untouchable by number two Mercedes. Christian Horner talks to Viaplay after the race about his team's second title in a row.
"The team has just been on another level this year. I think Max [Verstappen] has driven so well, to have achieved what we've done, it's just outstanding and I think that the way that we won it today is something very, very special. I think all the men and women back in the factory that have worked so hard, the success is all down to them and obviously what our drivers have done as well," Horner stated.
That Red Bull would take the title seemed abundantly clear. With the RB19, the Austrian racing stable built a car that was beaten only once in 16 races. Verstappen won 13 races, and Sergio Perez also managed to cross the line first twice. In fact, with six races to go, it is already certain that the drivers' title will go to a Red Bull driver. In Qatar, there is a good chance Verstappen will take it, which would mean he would take his third world title.
Horner was also asked after the race what caused Red Bull to be at a different level: "I think just a desire, a culture, a commitment from the whole team, working as a team because you need all of the 22 different departments to be working together to achieve this kind of result and Formula One is the biggest team sport in the world and you need everybody to do their bit to achieve something like this."
