McLaren had a good test weekend in Bahrain. The team was able to do a lot of laps and it seems that the integration of the Mercedes engine went fine. However, Lando Norris says that despite the positives, the tes wasn't perfect.
"It's difficult to know what everyone's doing but we can be confident, we have a decent car," said Norris in conversation with Sky F1. "We have things to work on for sure, not everything's perfect, but I'm happy and excited to get started."
With the new Mercedes engine, McLaren seem to be a small step ahead of the rest of the midfield, but Mercedes and Red Bull Racing still seem too far away. Norris reveals that they go into the season with more confidence than last year.
"In terms of starting off with a good step and on the right foot, I think we've managed to do that and we have some good things to work on when we come back in two weeks," concluded Norris. Last season McLaren managed to finish third in the constructors' standings at the final Grand Prix of the season.
