Esteban Ocon finished the sprint race 18th. Not a nice result for Alpine, which is in full battle with McLaren for fourth in the championship. And it may get even worse.

After the race, Ocon put his car in the pit lane, where the Alpine caught fire. The extent of the damage is still unknown. But it is easy to imagine that his car suffered some damage due to the fire. If parts need to be replaced, Ocon will probably have to start the Grand Prix from the pit lane.

Not the Williams

Ocon got out after the race and smelled something burning. "I left, I did a couple of steps and then I saw a car on fire. I thought it was the Williams, but no it was mine," he told The Race. It is unclear what caused the fire. Ocon also looked at his damaged sidepod. "The sidepod is completely open, I don’t know how it didn’t fly," said Ocon, who finished the race only 18th.
