Red Bull Racing announced the date of the RB18 presentation via a Tweet on Thursday morning. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez has now provided more clarity on the format of the presentation in a press release.
On February 9, 2022, Red Bull Racing will present the new car for the 2022 Formula One season. In the season in which the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen, will drive with start number #1, Red Bull must fulfil a big promise. After a title battle in 2021, the team hopes to be back in the front row with the new regulations.
Red Bull's press release makes it clear that "the fans are central" to the presentation of the new car. The presentation will be broadcast live on the team's social channels, with Christian Horner, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez also present.
''Via The Paddock, Red Bull Racing’s digital loyalty platform, fans were given the opportunity to host the 2022 season launch on their social channels, to deliver a multi-channel fan-first experience. Red Bull Racing have always been at the cutting edge of technological innovation on track, now the team are bringing the same ethos to their marketing approach away from the circuit, as we become the first Formula One Team to launch a car in this new generation'', the press release reads.
Ok. I'd like to know what RB have got up their collective sleeve, or more accurately put, under their bonnet. I'd like to know why Wheatley and Co. have been so bullish lately. First we get the news that Honda will be manufacturing the PU's after all, then that Yamamoto will be joining RB as a consultant, and then we get the official F1 portal bringing an article about 'restrictions' on future PU development not being as clear cut as previously publicised, illustrating how the manufacturers can drive a coach and horses through the controls: "manufacturers are allowed to apply to the FIA to carry out modifications “for the sole purposes of reliability, safety, cost saving, or minimal incidental changes” Nice one F1. The debate about illegal mods and rocketship advantages will carry over into 2022. The difference will be that it will be RedBull giving Max the rocketship to gift him his next 'paper' championship - haha! **
It's the same crap for needing 5 reprimands instead of 3 for a race ban, where Lewis was going to get his 3rd before the start of the season for not attending the FIA gala. And the only one benefitting from it is Merc, where they have a complete rocketship the first race when the engine is used, transforming into a Williams PU after just a couple of rocket races. Can you see what's happening, again?
No, not really. The rule change to 5 reprimands clearly benefits the driver with the more aggressive driving style. Lewis is certainly not going to get a reprimand for not attending a booze-up. A personal fine more like. Nuff said.....
A fine.. like he cares.. there are rules and a new president, to keep Lewis they are bending rules again. But everyone is comlaining about AD while we had 8 seasons of Merc influenced championships. Merc only came into the sport with the current engines and got 5 years to develop before they started. Others prob had 2 or 3 years and Merc was already doing this tech for some years on the road. They got their way and to many people within the FIA witha Merc link or history of working for Mercedes. I get your point. 44 fans have been complaining for 2 months now but they are not looking on how this all started and how everything was bent so much that only 1 team was competing itself when they had Rosberg. When the real competition came, FIA is cheating and bending the rules.. right?
I can see why it might look that way, Wilco, and MB's dominance is not disputed, but the old FIA argument of bias toward MB is much more. cock-up than conspiracy. Sure, MB had financial clout and so were listened to, but not as part of a plan, but because the FIA were set up to be weak by Bernie
