Max Verstappen starts the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from pole position. The Dutchman will be joined on the front row by
Charles Leclerc.
Sergio Perez will attack from the second row of the grid. View the provisional starting grid for the Grand Prix here.
Perez and Fernando Alonso take the second row. Alonso seemed to be on his way to a better classification, but fell just short in the last sector. The Spaniard was still faster than the
McLaren duo, though.
Oscar Piastri and
Lando Norris were together on the third row of the grid. Piastri was faster than his more experienced teammate.
Mercedes had a somewhat disappointing qualifying session. As a result,
George Russell and
Lewis Hamilton will start the race from seventh and eighth place, respectively. That is still ahead of
Yuki Tsunoda and
Lance Stroll, though. Tsunoda got through to Q3, unlike teammate
Daniel Ricciardo.
In qualifying, all attention was on Oliver Bearman. The young Briton was the replacement for
Carlos Sainz and managed to leave a good impression. In his first
F1 qualifying, he finished 11th. Bearman will start the race on Sunday alongside
Alexander Albon.
