Red Bull Racing have been fastest in pit stops many times this season. At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix the Austrian team once again demonstrated its ability to perform under pressure.
The pitstop of Max Verstappen was the fastest of the day, according to the data from DHL. The Dutchman's team managed to get him out of the pit within 2.12 seconds. This was one-tenth faster than Charles Leclerc who finished second with Ferrari.
Even more interesting is the comparison with Lewis Hamilton who failed to take the win. His pit stop cost him 2.45 seconds. Compared to Verstappen, the Briton, therefore, lost more than three tenths for changing his tyres.
Not only Verstappen's tyre change went perfectly, but also Sergio Perez could be satisfied with the team. The Mexican had to wait 2.31 seconds before he could drive out of the pit lane. Verstappen's teammate had to retire just before the end of the race.
