Red Bull Racing is on an extremely dominant run with Max Verstappen. Verstappen has many words of praise for the RB19, but according to technical director Pierre Waché, the Adrian Newey-designed car does not excel at anything in particular.

Thanks to the crushing results achieved by Verstappen in particular in the RB19, the car will go down in history as one of the most successful F1 cars of all time. However, Waché argues that the 2023 Red Bull is not particularly strong in any one area, but that the car is 'reasonably good in all areas'.

'Red Bull's RB19 is average good, not fantastic'

"It is average good for everything, which is creating a good car. It's not very good in one aspect. Why we think it is good because we are quicker than others, but fundamentally I would say we didn't do a fantastic job. We did a good job," Red Bull's technical director told Motorsport.com.

Waché added that he had expected some competing F1 teams to do better, especially given the mandatory changes to the floor imposed by the FIA. In particular, Mercedes and Ferrari kicked off the season weaker than expected, while Aston Martin surprised in a positive way.
