Carlos Sainz has earned his second Pole Position in a row at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Spaniard was satisfied with his result, but is yet unsure about the race and the pace his car would have tomorrow.
"A bit like in Monza hitting the ground running from FP1 and feeling confident throughout the sessions. not doing any mistakes in that lap. Was a bit of a messy session for everyone but we kept the focus. It's the story of our year. We have a good car in certain tracks and conditions," Carlos Sainz said immediately after Qualifying has ended in Singapore.
"This short apexes and quick changes of direction, our car seems very good. We know our weakness is race pace and we always pay the price," the Ferrari driver continued.
Sainz also said that the race might be a different story. "Race pace is a bit of a question mark. Mercedes are normally quicker than us come race day and have a different strategy with the tyres which we need to keep an eye on. But if I focus on my own race and put together a good first stint and stint on hards, we can target the win."
After being asked if beating Max Verstappen is the goal tomorrow, he said : "That would feel amazing and that's the target. I will give it everything"
