The only place that has changed is the last place on the grid. Williams driver Logan Sargeant will have to start the race at Suzuka from the pit lane, but that is not the only thing. Sargeant faced a 10-second penalty before the Grand Prix started. The team broke the parc fermé rules after crashing in qualifying.

Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton start from seventh and eighth places at Suzuka. Carlos Sainz qualified ahead of both men, and will start from sixth place. The Spaniard will see his teammate Charles Leclerc start from P4.
