Max Verstappen didn't expect himself on pole in Austin. In his own words, he had some balance issues throughout the weekend, which Red Bull Racing were able to resolve in the end.
Verstappen finishes qualifying with a good feeling. "Especially because for me it wasn't easy all weekend, somehow I couldn't get the lap times out that I wanted because I didn't have the right balance in the car," he explains to Ziggo Sport.
Verstappen happy with pole in Austin
Red Bull seemed busy with Verstappen's front wing during qualifying, but that was not the focus, according to him. "During qualifying of course you can only adjust the front wing. During the weekend we made quite a few changes to the car, sometimes it's just a bit easier to work when you take the wing off," explained the Red Bull driver.
