Max Verstappen was again the driver closest to Mercedes at the Silverstone circuit. In one lap, however, he was far too slow to challenge them and that's why third place on the grid was the best he could do.
"The lap itself was good in the end, but you could see early in qualifying that they were way too fast. Just like the last races. You just have to accept that. After Hungary, a third place is a good starting point. I think we are a bit closer in the race. At least I'm going to fight!

Mercedes is not too fast. They are doing their normal Job.
You and Ferrari were both cheating ion your engine last year. That is the main reason why you are slow this year.

Looks like a handicap race we are having this year. One team with an actual F1 car, 5 teams running F2 cars and 4 teams racing in GP3 spec cars! The variations then is because of the drivers ability behind the wheel of each car.
Perfect, because from the figures 9n engine performance from the last three races snd by today's evidence,
RedBull and Ferrari are slower today than tgey were last year.
Honda was also cheating on their engine.
No wonder both are slower than they were last year.
