The second round of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross season is complete at the Hangtown circuit in Rancho Cordova, California as Honda's Lawrence brothers, Jett and Hunter, once again set the benchmark for the 450 class.
The rivalry with rookie Haiden Deegan, which was highly anticipated ahead of Deegan's debut in the 450 class, kicked off last weekend in Pala as Hunter Lawrence secured a dominant 1-1 victory and Jett hobbled to a podium on his return from injury.
This time around, he went even better with a 1-1 of his own while Hunter finished 2nd in both races. Haiden Deegan had to settle for third as he took his first podium in the 450 class.

Both Jett and Deegan made much better starts this time around, with Hunter and Prado following behind. Despite a solid effort from the Yamaha rider, Jett was simply too fast and pulled a progressively large gap on the rookie to claim a dominant win in race 1.
That wasn't the end of the story though, as Hunter Lawrence made a clean pass on Deegan with just under three minutes remaining. Deegan responded with a late dive to the inside and made contact with Hunter's bike, but the Australian was undeterred and pulled clear to claim second place.
It was a heartbreaking finish for Prado, who was forced to retire due to a mechanical issue on the final lap of Race 1. Further down the order, it was a new benchmark for Red Bull Ducati as Dylan Ferrandis took a very impressive fourth place. Chase Sexton managed to finish inside the top ten after crashing on the opening lap.

The second race was brought to abrupt halt on the opening lap after a series of accidents. Yamaha's Justin Cooper was involved in a severe incident which caused the red flags to be waved. Thankfully he was reported to be relatively okay and was declared 'awake and alert' before being transported to the medical center.
After the restart, the Lawrence brothers once again pulled away from the rest of the field, while Deegan fought back impressively from 11th on the start to reach the podium. Despite showing great pace, the rookie was unable to make any kind of impact on the Lawrences.
It was yet another strong showing for Ducati, with both bikes finishing inside the top 10.
