Lewis Hamilton will start at the front of the
Belgian Grand Prix grid on Sunday afternoon. The Mercedes driver was a master in qualifying and comfortably beat
Valtteri Bottas. The Finnish driver almost lost his second place to
Max Verstappen.
The
Red Bull Racing driver was only fifteen thousandths short of a place on the first row of the grid. He will be joined by his old teammate and good friend
Daniel Ricciardo on the second-row. It will be important for Verstappen not to fall behind the Australian on the mediums because according to
Alexander Albon Renault is very fast on the straights.
Albon between the Renaults
Albon himself hopes to pass Ricciardo quickly from fifth place. However, he will be attacked from behind by another Renault, that of
Esteban Ocon.
Racing Point couldn't make much of an impression and finished in P8 and P9. The McLarens will start the race from places seven and ten.
Behind that is the
Ferrari that narrowly managed to avoid an exit in Q1 on Saturday afternoon. They will initially duel with the AlphaTauris of
Daniil Kvyat and
Pierre Gasly. The Honda engine is a lot stronger than Ferrari's on the straights, so there are chances to look forward to for the men of team boss
Franz Tost.
