Alexander Albon left Formula 1 this season after Red Bull Racing decided to bring in Sergio Perez. The British Thai is currently competing in the DTM, but the chances of Max Verstappen's former teammate returning to the premier class of motorsport are increasing by the week. Both
Williams and Alfa Romeo have indicated to Red Bull that they are interested in Albon's services.
Christian Horner revealed this during the press conference at the
Zandvoort circuit on Friday afternoon.
Horner hopes Albon will return
"They have both expressed interest," Horner reports. He hopes that Albon will indeed return to
Formula 1.
"He's a guy who deserves a chance. "Some good discussions are going on and hopefully it gets resolved in the near future." At
Williams, Albon could become the replacement for the reportedly departing
George Russell for Mercedes. At Alfa Romeo, a spot has become available now that
Kimi Raikkonen has announced his retirement.
Antonio Giovinazzi is also not yet sure of his seat at Frederic Vasseur's team.
