Liam Lawson will make his unofficial debut in a Formula One car in Abu Dhabi. The Red Bull Racing junior will be in action on behalf of AlphaTauri during the 'Young Driver Test' following the conclusion of the 2021 season. The seat for Lawson has been made in any case.
The New Zealander has had a relatively good year. He narrowly missed out on the DTM championship in his debut season in Germany, while he is currently eighth in Formula 2. Next year Lawson will return to the premier class in the hope of winning the title.
The 19-year-old's current absence from the top five is largely down to bad luck, according to Marko. The Red Bull Racing advisor said earlier: "There were technical problems, otherwise he would have been up there too."
