It's time for the second session of this final Formula One weekend of 2021, the second free practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. During this session, the drivers will quick laps and long runs with high fuel loads. They will all look to find the best set-up for Sunday's race. You follow it all with this liveblog from GPblog.
After the first session it is difficult to judge if Lewis Hamilton with his Mercedes has an advantage on this renewed circuit compared to Max Verstappen. Verstappen can take much more risk this weekend, as he has one victory more than Hamilton. If both drivers don't finish or don't get any points, Verstappen will win the championship. Hamilton will therefore do everything he can to avoid a crash.
After the disappointing results of Sergio Perez it looks like Mercedes are almost sure of the constructors' title. For a long time, there was only a difference of a few points, but after Perez's DNF the difference between Mercedes and Red Bull has increased to 28 points in favour of Mercedes. Red Bull can only win the title if both Mercedes drivers score very few or no points in this all-important race.
The second free practice session provides some insight into the standings for this weekend. You can follow all developments in Abu Dhabi with this liveblog.
What a sad end not real race, they broke the rule book to get a Bullies win.
Perfect track for the reigning champ. They removed all the technically challenging parts and made it about engine power.
"It's very early days and we should know in 2021 that the weekend can flip in an instance. But the Mercedes car seems to have the better set-up so far compared to the Red Bull car. Not only on the timesheets, but also the balance in the corners."
Plus a 0.641 gap.
What a complete and utter surprise and people still trying to hype up this weekend somehow! ???
So what do you guys thinks of the visor cam?
Looks cool and very video game looking. Good definition too.
Lewis almost 1s quicker than Max right there.
44mins remaining.
Popcorn please!
The Redbull is looking strong, the Mercedes look really slow in the middle sector.
The Merc is looking strong, the Red Bull look really slow in the first sector
Ah are you feeling provoked ?
I must be living in your head again
Was he provoking? Was it non factual as the time of writing?
What I expect is that the anti-Ham trolls understand why they get trolled or provoked all the time.
When they behave, the other side will.
The Merc is lightyears ahead? Hmm well a light year is a measurement of distance not time.
RB is looking ok.
Look both Merc and Red Bull were sandbagging in both Practice sessions, that much is clear.
Lewis was up by 0.1s in S1, 0.1s in S2 and 0.2s in S3. That's not a massive difference considering the long straights.
The Red Bull is holding it's own especially if race pace is to be believed.
It's not trolling, I just think you're being deliberately pessimistic.
Also I don't think any of the Max fans can whinge about a Lewis supporter talking about pace.
Their constant whinging about rocketship this etc. is worse.
So I say those are also sad comments.
But it seems as though there's a lot of double standards here.
Well . To be fair, Vegan was ckearly provoking like he always is, so what you guys expect? Its clear the Merc is lightyears ahead so a sad comment how the RB looks strong is just a sad way of trolling!
LOL you wish. A made-up false feeling of superiority. A sign of insecurity.
You're not living in my head at all. More like... you're homeless.
No I just wanted to remind me what a sad tit you are with your copy/paste comment.
