The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the very last race of the season, is just around the corner. The second free practice is about to start. Don't miss any of all the action on and off the track with this liveblog from GPblog.
The 2022 Formula One season comes to an end in Abu Dhabi. After a long season, Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing already have the world titles in their pockets, but that does not mean there is nothing to look forward to this weekend. Several teams and drivers are still fighting for spots in the championship. For instance, Mercedes and Ferrari are fighting for P2 in the constructors' championship, while Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc are in second place among drivers with an equal number of points.
We also have to say goodbye to several drivers this weekend. Sebastian Vettel will drive his very last race in Abu Dhabi before officially retiring. Mick Schumacher and Daniel Ricciardo drive their (for now) last Grand Prix, although the drivers hope to return to the grid in 2024 with a full-time seat. Furthermore, Nicholas Latifi will also be in action for the last time after Williams did not renew his contract.
The second free practice session is the most representative practice session as, like the main race, it is run in the evening. Among others, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso were not in action in FP1 as they had to give up their car to a rookie. The drivers will therefore have to make extra preparations in FP2. This liveblog will be completed in English.
