It's not clear where
Fernando Alonso's future lies, but it could be that the Spaniard leaves the Formula One in the near future, which will be a big shame according to
Jolyon Palmer.
The former Renault driver thinks that
McLaren could be in big problems, should Alonso decide to leave them.
"Firstly, it's a shame for the sport if it loses one of its best drivers ever," Palmer told Mundo Deportivo.
"He'll also leave a massive hole if he leaves.
"They [McLaren] will be hoping that they'll have Lando Norris in the future, but it's almost impossible for him to replace Alonso."
Palmer thinks that Alonso currently can't show what he's capable of at the Woking-based team.
"Despite his age, he's at the top of his career.
"For the F1 it's a shame to lose a person like Alonso.
"I think that Alonso knows too that he can't amount to anything at McLaren."
