Red Bull Racing hits back hard at Mercedes: "Love to see it"
- GPblog.com
After a difficult start with the double DNF in Bahrain, Red Bull Racing achieved success in the second race of the year. While Max Verstappen won the race, Mercedes struggled to finish with both cars in the points.
For Red Bull this was a reason to take a subtle stab at last year's rivals, who were still openly enjoying the suffering of Verstappen and Sergio Perez during the Bahrain Grand Prix. At the exact moment that Red Bull lost their second car, Mercedes' social media team hurled a tweet into the world: "You love to see it," the message read.
Red Bull Racing replies to Mercedes
Red Bull Racing responded exactly one week later with a victory at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and clearly had not forgotten the German racing stable's vitriolic message. And so, not long after the race, a tweet from the Austrian team appeared with photos of the victorious Verstappen, accompanied by exactly the same text: "You love to see it."
