Gasly looks into the future: 'I must admit that'

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most famous races in Formula 1. However, with the increased number of interested countries, it seems not inconceivable that the motorsport class will not travel to the circuit in the coming years. For Pierre Gasly that would take some getting used to, he admits in conversation with The Race.
The race on Sunday often does not guarantee much overtaking, nevertheless it is a popular circuit with many Formula 1 viewers. However, the FIA reportedly hopes to expand the racing calendar to as many as 25 GPs, with the Monaco race possibly having to make way.
"It will be a bit of a shocker, I must admit if it gets taken out of the calendar," Gasly states. "It’s probably the most iconic race in the world. Talking to non-F1 fans, everybody has heard about Monaco for various reasons, whether it’s racing, whether it’s partying, or whether it’s all the action that happens around the grand prix."
Reactions surrounding possible disappearance of Monaco GP
Earlier this month, some people in the Formula One world spoke out about the possible disappearance of the Monaco GP. While some argued that the FIA should just keep choosing Monaco, McLaren CEO Zak Brown stated that Formula 1 is bigger than that.
