Di Resta sees fighting Verstappen at Monaco GP
- GPblog.com
Paul Di Resta notices that Max Verstappen is having a tough time at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Dutchman did not get further than fourth place during both free practice and qualifying, making a victory far away.
According to the former Formula One driver, it has been a long time since the reigning world champion had such a tough time in a race weekend, he told Sky Sports. He, therefore, expects that the Austrian racing team will find it difficult to get past Ferrari.
Di Resta is convinced that Ferrari will give Carlos Sainz, who is in second place on the grid, the task of keeping Sergio Perez and Verstappen behind him for as long as possible. This would allow Leclerc to drive away from the competition and thus regain the lead in the world championship.
Opportunities for Red Bull in Monaco
Nevertheless, he sees an opportunity for Red Bull to win from Ferrari. For example, the Austrian formation would have the chance to be faster off Ferrari during the pitstops. Moreover, he expects Verstappen and Perez to do better than the Ferrari drivers when they have to deal with precipitation on the track.
