Sergio Perez apologizes to his team in Red Bull Racing's press release after his crash in the closing stages of qualifying. Despite this, the Mexican is confident that he can put in a strong race in Monaco.

While the last ten drivers tried to secure a good starting position during qualifying, Perez failed to leave his car undamaged. The Mexican caused a red flag in the final minutes and thus the end of qualifying.

"It is frustrating to end the day like this," stated Perez, who also sees the positive of qualifying. "We have still qualified in the top three in Monaco. I am very sorry for my Team, it is going to be a long night for them but hopefully, we can recover and be back tomorrow."

Perez feels fit for race in Monaco

Perez went in for a check-up after the incident, but according to Max Verstappen's teammate, there was nothing else wrong with him. As a result, he will be able to start as normal for the race in Monaco on Sunday afternoon. "It was just a precautionary check in the medical centre, I am all ok and now I am looking forward to tomorrow."
