Gasly never doubted his future in Formula 1

Pierre Gasly was given the chance at Red Bull Racing in 2018 but did not convince the racing stable of his qualities at the time. It caused him to have to make way for Alexander Albon at the halfway point of 2019, after which he faced a tough period. He tells that in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.
Not only was the Frenchman young when he started his period at Red Bull, it also proved impossible for him to perform the same as Max Verstappen. Nevertheless, the blow hit him quite hard when the Austrians told him that he had lost his place.
"It was difficult on a professional level, but also on a personal level," Gasly admits honestly. "But I never doubted that I would get out of that difficult situation because I am a person who always fights. I have always fought, all my life, and you always learn from those moments."
Gasly can put new Red Bull opportunity out of mind for now
After his good performance at AlphaTauri, Gasly was hoping to secure another spot at Red Bull next season, but for now, he won't get a second chance. Indeed, this week Red Bull came out with the news that it will continue with Sergio Perez for longer, while Verstappen is locked in until the end of 2028.
