Vettel believes qualifying could have been better
It was ninth place in the end for Sebastian Vettel. Something the German credited as "really good and it puts us in a good position for tomorrow". As the Aston Martin driver bounced back from going into the wall at turn 15 in Q2, the 34-year-old saying "At least I managed to crash wisely"
Not quite the perfect qualifying
Despite the crash, Vettel did do well to fight back in Quali, and even there felt like there was more on the table "It was very tight but I was hoping for a tow in the end which could have got us up to maybe 6th." He tells Sky Sports before joking that "Maybe I need to make more friends"
The four-time world champion gives himself a pat on the back and praises himself and the team "I was happy with the final lap that I had and we only had one set of tyres. The used tyres we used them up before to go through so overall I think it was a good session. I think there was half a tenths with Yuki to get 8th but it puts us in a good place."
