Marko: "We were so dominant and then something like this happens..."

Helmut Marko is disappointed that Max Verstappen failed to set the fastest time at the decisive moment in qualifying at the Silverstone circuit. The Red Bull Racing advisor believes the RB18 will be fastest in Sunday's race, although he knows overtaking will not be easy.
"We had to get off the gas because of the yellow flag. That cost us the pole position in the third sector," Marko told Sky's German branch. According to the 79-year-old Austrian, it is simply bad luck. He is also secretly a little disappointed. "We were so dominant and then something like this happens..."
Does Red Bull have the fastest package?
In terms of race pace, not much data is available yet, because FP2 was mainly used to practice short runs after the rained-out first practice session. Nevertheless, at Red Bull, they think they will be faster than Ferrari and Mercedes in over 300 kilometres.
"I think in race trim we will be faster again, but the problem here is overtaking. From second and fourth place, a lot is possible from a strategic and tactical point of view," Marko said.
