Ferrari look strong after two wins in a row, but the reliability of the car remains a problem. Mattia Binotto emphasises that the team is working hard to find a solution. The team boss has hope for the future.

The Red Bull Ring party could have been even better for Ferrari with a one-two, but Carlos Sainz's engine exploded in the closing stages of the race. Binotto still believes in both championships. Leclerc is 38 points behind Max Verstappen, while Ferrari are 56 points behind in the constructors' championship.

Reliability remains the enemy after breakdowns in Barcelona, Baku and again in Austria. According to Binotto, the problem in Spielberg is very similar to the one in Baku. In Maranello, they are working hard to find a solution. "We have a very good performing engine. That gives me hope for the future when we have found a way to make it reliable as well," Binotto told Corriere della Sera.

Ferrari needs time

There are still two races to go before the four-week summer break. Ferrari are keen to close the gap and head to the Belgian Grand Prix with a good feeling, but it remains to be seen whether reliability issues can be resolved so quickly.

"These are problems that worry us for the coming races, not in the long term. I am convinced that we can solve it as a team. For this kind of intervention you need time: you need to design, produce and homologate new components for reliability. A few weeks are not enough. In the short term we will try to manage it in terms of kilometres," said the Ferrari team boss.

I certainly hope so for Charles's sake. Max is doing a brilliant job as ussual. But the red Bull car is starting to show a bit of weakness aswell.

The problem is reliability usually comes at the expensive of performance. So in the meantime they will need to improve other parts of the car to keep the same speed/pace. Probably need to tune the motor down a bit on hot weather races for now.

If they solve the reliability issue in two races, they are definitely contenders for at least the constructors championship. And I think in a few races time Mercedes will be in the mix to separate Ferrari and Red Bull at some tracks. Still lots to play for. Exciting!

Well it seems that Ferrari have to burn their engines out in order to beat Red Bull. Now that's telling to me

This is what i said previously that Ferrari will be extremely strong in 2023. Dont forget the engines will get locked soon till 26. Once they solve reliability, Ferrari will be very strong as time progresses into the season

I don't think winning this year is realistic! The chances are very slim that Ferrari will finish every race, let alone win every race!!

Performance is definately there. After some reliability updates, they could be strong contenders for both the championships from next year.

I think Binotto is right in saying so and it also sound allot better than saying you have poor reliablility.
