Red Bull gets unexpected support: 'Max would have won anyway'
- GPblog.com
After the Dutch Grand Prix, many conspiracy theories arose online about Yuki Tsunoda's retirement. Ted Kravitz and Will Buxton, however, cannot imagine why Red Bull would risk such a thing.
Tsunoda provided a remarkable moment during the Dutch GP. The Japanese driver stopped his car, came in, drove out again and then stopped his car again. Max Verstappen took advantage by entering the pits under the virtual safety car and online this caused some suspicion. Toto Wolff also thought it was a remarkable thing.
Conspiracy about Red Bull
The fact that there is so much hate online towards Red Bull Racing, leads to incomprehension of Sky Sports reporter Kravitz. In the broadcast of the British medium he says he thinks the conspiracies are nonsense. ''There is no upside for AlphaTauri helping Max win the race because they have already won the constructors and drivers. I'm trying to dispel the conspiracy theories by everyone. He [Max] would have won anyway.''
On Twitter there is also a duel going on, with some looking for anything to validate the conspiracy, while most journalists defend Red Bull. For example, Will Buxton also sees no gain for Red Bull, which in his eyes would have won the race anyway. ''Sometimes folks need to engage their brain'', he says.
Alpha Tauri’s 5 points off Haas and have scored once in the past 7 races. Why would they sacrifice the driver who looked most likely to score? If he was trying to disrupt the race why did he stop directly by a marshal post and exit road? Sometimes folks need to engage their brain
